Port Blair, May 2: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Minister of Law and Justice (IC), Government of India to allocate Seats in Premier Government Law Colleges for Students of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

In a letter addressed to the Hon’ble Minister of Law and Justice (IC), Government of India the Member of Parliament said that he is deeply concerned about the lack of postgraduate opportunities in law in our Islands. While Andaman Law College has been instrumental in providing undergraduate legal education, there is a notable absence of postgraduate programs, specifically a Master of Laws (LLM) course.

Port Blair, May 2: Smti. Sindhu Pillai. A, IPS, Inspector General of Police, A & N Police, presided over the valedictory session of a dynamic 2-day course held at PTS, Prothrapur. The course aimed to equip officials of Judiciary, Prosecution, Advocates, Law Department, Prison Department, and other stakeholders with the necessary knowledge to navigate upcoming changes in our legal landscape.

Port Blair, May 2: The District Administration, South Andaman in its continuous efforts to contain encroachments over Government lands, carried out eviction drives at Ferrargunj Tehsil. Encroachments done in the village of Nayashahar under Ferrargunj Tehsil were evicted and an area of 2000 sq. mtrs approximately with fencing was removed and the land has been restored to Government Khata with the assistance of Patwari, Patwari Assistant and CDVs in the Tehsil.

Port Blair, May 2: The Holiday Camp-2024 organized by the Science Centre got underway today with its inauguration by the chief guest, Dr. Dilip Kumar Jha, Officer In-charge, National Institute of Ocean Technology, Port Blair in its premises at Goodwill Estate.

Addressing the student participants of the camp present in large numbers, the chief guest lauded the efforts of the Science Centre for organizing holiday camp in various discipline in a very innovative way. He inspired students to develop keen interest in scientific research and innovation by giving examples of our daily life.

Port Blair, May 2: A team of Doctor (Ayurveda) and Para Medical Staff of Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI), a unit of CCRAS under Ministry of AYUSH, Port Blair will be conducting Free Ayurveda Health Camp under Tribal Health Care Research Programme at Harminder Bay, Little Andaman from May 4 to 18, 2024.
